OH CRAP - I gained

WOW

I was really expecting to be down a couple. I am up 5 lbs since my last meeting on 1/4/09. Up to 319 and counting...

We it was a wake up call. I went right to a deli and ordered an eggewhite veggie omelet and a big fruit salad. Skim milk and no sugar in my coffee. I hate fake sugar. Sweet 'n low, equal, they all taste like ass. Then I had a big salad at Lenny's on 8th ave.

Activities?
Wasted time watching a horrible movie. INKHEART. Reminded me of the Golden COmpass, which I watched on direct TV last night. Todays in a row, two movies, two really bad rip offs of 4-5 fantasy movies all in one. At least Epic Movie tried to be crap on purpose for funny effects. These just put me to sleep.

Walked around a lot on the upper west side. Went to Circuit City. Listen folks, if you are going to have a going out of business sale, why don't you put things at prices that really attract customers to buy. I was lured in but quickly noticed you are still paying for NYC rents at those rates. "UP TO 40% OFF" Most of the crap was bare 20% off.

I was going to go to the gym but I was so depressed about the weight I said screw it. That's the way to lose. Note to self, need to think differently if going to succeed.

Now watching Super Bowl. Unimpressed until the dorritos commercial. Dark Comedy Finding myself craving nachos and wings and other foods not on the diet.

Get to Gym twice
No dips - including hummos, guacamole, melted cheese etc. Fresh Salsa on Salads only ( I like as a lazy man weight to add tomatoes)

Back on the diet

I am starting a daily blog entry commitment as a way to help me lose weight. The picture to the right shows me in the summer of 2007. I probably gained a few pounds by that christmas. Finally in the spring of 2008 I went to Weight Watchers. In April I weighed in at 352. I had already started to lose thanks to the gym and salads at Europan across the street from the Times Square Comedy Club. By July I was got down as far as 297. 55lb in 3 months. Since then I slowly gained. Around September I weighed in at 304ish. NOw, or at least in recent weeks, I have jumped up to 314. I started packing the fridge again with fruits & veggies. Hard to do these days. Money is tight. Produce has gone up. Buying some frozen so as not to waste with rotting. I even made some great Sweet Potatoes with cinnamon and lite sypup. Tasty and not too bad. Better than a donut for the sweet tooth. I plan on returning to the Weight Watchers tomorrow. At that time I plan on posting weight and daily intake. AS a self promoting whore, I figure this is the best way to keep myslef honest and hope to get notice in the process. What ever it takes to fool myself. Psych myself out. Keep up the motivation.

Econ & Tics

These are hard times. Trying times. Times that will be called by many names in decades to come. Recession. Depression. End of the beginning. Beginning of the end. The time of the Greedy V The Poor. The time of the unemployed. Time of the homeless and foreclosed.I see these times as the great eye opener. Those like Bernie Madoff being revealed for the true crooks that they are. Those finally realizing the pit falls of living on barrowed money and the evils of the creditors. The revelation and hope of having a president that says, this is the right thing to do regardless of politics.I love everything that Obama is saying. I hate to hear what many republicans are saying. However, I still love that there is a debate. The fight of ideals is what makes this country great. Please do not confuse what I am about to say as a way of labeling the president. These times are very similar to the 1930s. And it was a similar call to action that propelled Hitler to power. Lets give him all the power and lets see what happens. It can't get any worse. We all know how that turned out. Well except for maybe Iranian Presidents.I love that the republican party is putting up a fight to everything the democrats put forth. They have to. With one party having all the power, they are libel to push through something that is not good for all.The Democrats have two years to prove to us they have the right plan. They have two years of basically free reign. Then they have to go back to the polls and defend their policies. I hope they get the job done. I like what I hear. But time will tell

WOW Did I piss someone off....

I woke up yesterday, having fallen asleep the night before watching CNN, listening to Obama's Pig n' Lipstick speech. OOOOOHHHH AAAAAHHHHH. I was very shocked to hear Obama ATTACK the other candidates on anything but the issues when he is so anti-personal abuse. Or so I thought. Usually he lets the attack dogs do his dirty work. As he should. It allows him to focus on the issues which i believe he is winning the war.

Within minutes an obvious Sarah Palin lover was cursing me out in the comments. I was tempted to delete it but I think it really speaks to the current climate. People on both sides are desperate and full of hate. I personally like the governor of Alaska. Everything I have seen so far is impressive. Will it make me vote for McCain? NO, as far as, no more than Biden convincing me to vote for Obama.

I think neither party or candidate has succeeded in convincing me, the true middle of the road undecided voter. I am not a single issue voter. Obviously those that only vote abortion, guns, and taxes have made up their minds one way or the other. So can we stop wasting time trying to scare people "He will raise your taxes", " He will take your guns away", "He will make you keep your mistakes for acting like a whore". oops I may have slipped some of my stands on the latter issue. Please don't think i am sexist. That was meant for both would be parents. Although, I am pro-choice politically.... I babble...

How am I going to vote then?

I am going to go state by state and figure out what Congress will look like. Who ever wins the house and Senate (Or appears to be winning) I will vote the other way. WHY?!? Because I belive the only reason we were so sucessful in the 90's - Bill Clinton and Congree fought about so many stupid issues that no new policies were created to interfere with our daily lives.

So I am voting for America and every day Americans. I am voting to put the power in your hands.
