BURIED BY SNOW!!!

Just dug out the car. OMG, it was buried on all sides by 1-3 feet of snow. As I approached I felt like the Red Coats marching on bunker hill. All I saw was a 6-7 foot mound of snow. No sign of a car underneath.

All I had was a Broom. A good broom. But just a Broom. No Shovel. No Gloves. Don't pity the idiot, right?

I probably did not do this the right way. The smart way. I took the lazy way.

There was a space in front that had a better chance of escape. Fearing one might take that space, I quickly tried to move the car forward - BEFORE CLEANING OFF THE CAR. Well I had to dig out the passenger side door to get in. No way I could dig out the driver's side door using the LAZY METHOD.

So unable to see, I started to plow forward. Got about 6 inches. Then I started rocking back and forth. Very slow going. I got out. Well I tried. Since I moved forward, the door was now blocked by snow. Using my feet. I pushed open the door. Cleaned out around the wheels and tried again. THE PROBLEM? I kept slipping into the snow bank.

So then I realized I have to dig out before going any further. Using a broom!!!

One guy tried to pull into the spot. Driving a Monte Carlo and blasting the music, he did not hear or see me yelling. I was standing in the spot he was about to pull into. I was not going to budge. He was about to run me over when I yelled, ESCHUCHA MOTHER F*CK*R.

He heard that.

I finally got the car far enough forward that I could finish the job and pull out. Another 15 minutes or so to clean off the roof and here I am. Ready to do a show. Hoping I can pull out with out any further pain.

I love VD

The movie!!!

I really did not want to see it. Heard horrible things. I will stop short of saying I was dragged, but on the inside I was thinking, "Just don't go to sleep. That will ruin the date."

You might agree with me. As the opening credits rolled I leaned to Laurice and said, "They should just list actors NOT in the movie." (See full list below - and that's just the principal cast)

The first 20 minutes were cute but slow. The problem with so many criss-crossing stories? They all have to start. So basically you get 5-10 wake up with lover, wife or alone scenes. But then in an action-less CRASH-like way, the stories start to interweave. Some not until the end. There are some very cute reference to past artistic endeavors, especially with Garry Marshall and Julia Roberts you really have to pay attention to catch. Usually I am very quick with subtle and inside jokes. But Laurice had to point out every one to me. Especially one referring to Julia's Broadway Debut. Taylor (Lautner) & Taylor (Swift) quips were fun but that was the limit to there screen time.

The only problem I had with the movie? It was very white, with a few token performances. Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifa were both great but after thoughts. George Lopez seemed out of place as the Mexican Florist working for, yet best friend to Ashton Kutcher. You would think stars of this caliber have out lived the need for the stereotype roles.

Basically this would normally be a movie made with a bunch of CW up and comer types with 1-2 stars. A romantic Superbad. But, being Garry Marshall - one of those directors you work for less than usual just to stand in front of his cameras - you get a screen full of Oscar nods and top pop icons. Especially endearing, the story line of Hector Elizondo and Shirley MacLaine.

IN SHORT - GO SEE THIS MOVIE ON YOUR NEXT DATE NIGHT!!!

ANYWHO - Back to IMPROV. 1pm Show today, Thursday and Friday. Regular LMAO schedule this weekend. Plus Jewish HS gig in Stamford Saturday Night.

SELLING OUT BROADWAY!!!

http://www.waltfrasier.blogspot.com/

Someone once asked THE BOSS if he "SOLD OUT". Bruce's response "I SELL OUT every night!"

Where did all these people come from?

Actually every Presidents week and MLK week are good. But the past two days out sold Christmas week. Every show (with very few exceptions) sold out most performances the past two days. TKTS was a chaotic.

Why all the commotion? Why more than most 3-day weekends?

1 - A lot of shows closed this season but we were left with a great roster.

2 - Many came in to check out the new Plays, but with star power they were sold out.

3 - VD - HA HA Valentines Day landed on a busy Sunday when so many shows are off already.

4 - NYC Area Schools Winter Break - its seems more and more CT & NJ schools are joining the NYC trend to give students and teachers off.

5 - Cabin Fever - So many were stuck teh past week, they were ready for some fun.

6 - MORE SNOW ISSUES - The snow in other parts of the world kept a few folks in town Thrusday and Friday. Many we talked to decided to make a weekend of it. It would seem our city's ability to deal with the snow is a major attraction for tourists looking to escape. 100s of DC are folks, no under record season totals - 6 feet of snow- flocked to the theater district.

New PRESS Release

New Interactive Musical Comedy Hits Off Broadway

Laughing My Ankles Off, a new interactive musical comedy is now open to tickle your funny bone.

Now running off-Broadway this musical comedy has a lot to offer to its audiences. Experienced stage artists, leaving no stone unturned, make the shows ridiculously hilarious for all ages.

LMAO features the cast of Walt Frasier, Spero Chumas, and Laurice Fattal. LMAO ensures frequent appearances of many guest artists who can knock people off their seats. Recent guests include Charles Murray (Dreamgirls on Broadway) and Lee Markham (Altar Boys).

“Every audience is unique. No two shows alike.”
- Laurice Fattal, Cast Member

Now, what the audience will actually get to see when they are here can’t be told now because the subject matter changes everyday. The improvised skits and musicals, based on today’s burning issues, are completely unique and can range from totally silly to witty humor. No politician, author or celebrity would be able to escape the notoriety of the performers who are known to provoke uncontrollable laughter from the audience.

Recent shows have included spoofs - often presented in song - of Dexter, ICarly, Family guy, American Idol, Twilight, Harry Potter, Tiger Woods and a lot more. Music combined with humor can be a deadly combination so enter at your own risk.

LMAO (www.lmao-nyc.com) currently runs off-Broadway the Midtown Theater (163 West 46th Street, NY NY 10036) in the heart of Times Square.
