R. I. P. to the Yankee Skipper

George Steinbrenner passes away and leaves a legacy that made me a Yankees fan. He may have been a bully. Perhaps even a bastard at times. But he was sucessful.

Reminds me of a Producer I once met at a seminar. A female producer in a formerly "man's world", she had a reputation for demanding hard work from her employees etc. She claimed to have a bumper sticker on the door of her office that read "You call me a bitch like it's a bad thing!"

George is the reason I - and millions others - LOVE the Yankees. He might not be the one you think of when you think I LOVE THE YANKEES, but he is the heart and soul behind the scenes.

Now I hope his children do better than another similar Sports Tyrant I used to love - Jack Kent Cooke. I used to be the biggest Redskins fan, but since JKC passed his offspring killed the team. Business sense is not hereditary!!!

So far so good though. We all miss BOSS!!!

This all coming on the same week we lost the voice of the Yankees, Bob Sheppard
