LMAO Off Broadway Improv Comedy Adds Shows For End of Summer

LMAO, the Off-Broadway run for Improv troupe EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH (www.eightimprov.biz), has announced additional performances added the last three weeks of summer 2011. The hilarious interactive show will run Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8pm at the Times Square Arts Center and Comedy Club (669 8th Ave, New York NY 10036). There are also Matinee performance Sunday, September 4th and every Saturday at 3pm.

Producer, Laurice Fattal, stated, "We wanted to add shows earlier this summer, but were unable due to extensive bookings at college orientations (including four shows at Pace U) and corporate events (JP Morgan Chase, Bloomberg etc)." The cast has been busy touring the Tri-State area and beyond including educational outreach to schools, camps and other non-profits serving K-12 audiences. Now in its 9th season and 3000 shows later, the cast of EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH continuously delivers hilariously improvised music and sketch comedy created on the spot based on audience suggestions and participation. Recent audiences have inspired scenes and songs about Summer Blockbusters (Harry Potter, Captain America, Transformers etc), The DC Debt Debates, NFL lockout, Amy Winehouse and more. No two shows are ever the same.

Times Square Arts Center and Comedy Club offers a full bar and food menu for purchase at their five Vegas-style cabaret showrooms (80-300 seats). There is no drink or food minimum for the Improv Comedy. VIP tickets include a drink from the bar.

KEEP LAWYERS LAUGHING AMERICA

I had the coolest gig Monday. Got to write and perform 20 minutes original for Lawyers based on a case they originally won. Sort of roast I suppose.  There were ten of them in a wine cellar. Enough jokes there I know. But I was struggling to find a good opening until about 5 minutes before the moment I went in the room.

So I went acting nervous - ACTING of course - NOT REALLY NERVOUS - NOT ME - NO -

"Forgive me if I am nervous. This is a roast of sorts and Lawyers will laugh all night but in the morning there will be a libel suit on your desk. This is a good week for lawyers however.... A lot of celebroties are getting in trouble. Lindsay Lohan is in and out of Jail. Paris Hilton is in and out of Japan. And Elmo is in and out of Katy Perry!" RIM SHOT PLEASE!!!

Well it got a great roar and allowed me to continue with mediocre wink wink nudge nudgers....

We moved across the neighborhood for the past eight months to help take the show into union status. Now operating under the jurisdiction of AGVA (American Guild of Variety Artists) the show is attracting a new audience of avid theatergoers. TSAC is one of the nicest off-Broadway venues in NYC featuring Vegas Style cabaret showrooms - clean, comfortable and conveniently located. Best of all, we no longer require two drink minimum. While food & beverages are available, NO additional purchase is required of any kind.
